Dear readers,
Police Constable Mohamad Safwan bin Mat Alim aged 20 passed away on 12.11.2010 when he felled from his bike. I rushed to the mortuary in Serdang Hospital and immediately informed YB Dato Satim regarding this tragic incident. Dato' asked me to give a small donation to his immediate family. The mortuary scene was full of gloomy faces and many police officers from Serdang were there.
It is a bit sad that apart from police officers, no public can be seen. The body was bathed according to Muslim rites and was send to Puchong Jaya police station for the last prayers to be done. Here again I notice that only policemen were present.
It seems that the public couldn't care less when a policeman died. He didn't belong to the society. He work for the society, he protect the society, he patrolled the society, but yet when he dies, he died alone.
I hope that the public can at least come and join during the sembahyang jenazah. But no, it is a vain hope. Maybe he was just a constable, and his death can be ignored.
Public will only come when some one in the top rank dies.
Good bye my policeman friend Safwan.
